People say what they want in the polls but vote differently when they are in the voting booth. The results from the states on the gay marriage issue speaks volumes on this matter.

Obama cannot complete what he started if he is percieved as radical by his supporters. He needs to be re-elected and that is the main issue here. The Hispanics are mostly quite religious and many Black Americans are too. These two groups, for the most part, do not support gay marriage. So why wade into the issue at this critical time? I do not understand the rationale. He already had the youth and LGBT vote! :(

I hope the President has a plan here. This remark seems rushed and unfortunate. Our President, whom I admire, is lucky Romney is such a weak candidate unless this so called historical remark would have caused historical problems in the long term. I am still mulling over the whole matter.
