ROMNEY’S DECEPTIVE EDITING: The Romney Campaign Edited a 14-year old Video to Falsely Attack the President and Distract from Romney’s Disastrous Week

 

Romney is once again resorting to a deliberate, false and out-of-context attack on the President. Romney won’t provide even basic details about his plans for the country, so repeated false attacks are his only option to distract voters when things go bad.

·         Romney’s false “redistribution” attacks are once again taking President Obama’s statements out of context to make a point that doesn’t exist. This is a desperate attempt to distract Americans from another disastrous week for Romney.

·         Romney’s campaign has sunk to a new low, deceptively editing a 14-year old video.

o   First they falsely accused the President of wanting to redistribute wealth when he was actually talking about reforming government and making it more effective.

o   Now we know that the Romney campaign selectively edited out additional context from his remarks, cutting then-State Senator Obama’s argument supporting innovation, competition and a strong marketplace in expanding opportunity for all Americans.

·         Repeated false attacks are Romney’s only option to distract voters when things go bad since he refuses to provide even the most basic details about his plans for the country. Romney’s entire convention was built around an out-of-context attack, and the American people weren’t fooled.

  • Romney would turn hard-earned middle-class income into special tax breaks for the wealthiest. To pay for Romney’s $250,000 tax break for multi-millionaires, he’d have to cut deductions like those for mortgage interest, children and charitable contributions, amounting to a $2,000 tax hike for middle-class families with kids.
